DUTIES

We are seeking an AP, QP, or LP staff for our Mobile Crisis team in the Durham NC surrounding areas. Selected candidates would be responsible for being available to respond to crisis calls made to our hotline. We are looking for staff that are able to respond to crisis calls anytime during the day, but may be willing to look at candidates that are available after 5:00p.m. and all day on weekends. General task include:

1. Provides crisis response according to schedule to ensure availability of access for recipient 24/7/365. Must be accompanied by a PP or AP.

2. Accurately classifies recipients eligibility for Mobile Crisis service.

3. Prioritizes sequence of services provided to those who have a history of multiple crisis episodes and/or are at increased risk of future crisis.

4. Responds to crisis calls in the community made to the mobile crisis hotline with 1 hour via telephonic response and provides face-to-face response as needed.

5. Provides advocacy for recipient.

6. Provides environment where recipient can maintain self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety.

7. Completes all required documentation of services provided.

8. Delivers services in the least restrictive environment and provides the services as close as possible to the person's home.

9. Assess stabilized recipient's needs for ongoing treatment/supports.

10. Links recipient to continuing treatment/supports as needed.

11. Develops and distributes a Crisis Plan before discharging the recipient.

a. Distributes Crisis Plan to the recipient, caregivers (if appropriate), and any other agency that may provide continued treatment/supports after the stabilization of the crisis.

b. Provides recommendations to existing crisis plans for recipients who are already receiving services.

12. Reports any accident or incident to the Mobile Crisis Management Director.

13. Assist in the evaluation of the program by recommending improvements, assisting in implementing changes and objectives.

14. Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with local, state and federal statutes.

15. Presents mobile crisis information to public service departments (ex. Police department, fire departments, service clubs, etc.)

a. Sends Thank You letters to those department utilizing our services.

16. Attends all staff meetings and consumer conference or gives advance notice to Mobile Crisis Management Director as to reasons otherwise.

17. Attends professional training courses as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be a considered candidate you must meet the following criteria:

Have provided a minimum of 1 year in a crisis management service in the following settings:

o Assertive Outreach

o ACTT

o Emergency Department

o Other services providing 24/7 response in emergent or urgent situations

Complete 20 hours of training (the majority of which can be completed online)
