We are currently looking to bring on an experienced Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program Qualified Professional.

Substance Abuse Groups and Case Management

DUTIES

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

1. Providing the day to day management of activities within the designated mental health program including supervision of Associate Professional and Paraprofessional staff applicable to the service.

2. Providing services as defined by service definitions, County Program/Area Authority/LME guidelines and NC Division of MH/DD/SA rules and regulations.

3. Coordination and oversight of initial and ongoing assessment activities, initial development and ongoing revision of the person-centered plan. Arranges for the completion of additional assessments/evaluations as deemed necessary.

4. Ensuring the completion of daily program activities such as counseling, drug screens, disease management and treatment support activities.

5. Provides case management to arrange, link or integrate multiple services as well as assessment and reassessment of the recipient's need for services; informs the recipient about benefits, community resources, and services; assists the recipient in accessing benefits and services; arranges for the recipient to receive benefits and services; and monitors the provision of services.

6. Ensures that all aspects of the plan are being implemented while intervening and advocating on behalf of the client to resolve barriers to deliver services effectively.

7. Keep consumer engaged in the services.

8. Facilitates regular monthly treatment team meetings to review client progress (or lack there of) and adjusts plan accordingly.

9. Ability to carry out first responder at all times (24/7/365) with the capacity for face-to-face-emergency response within two (2) hours and provide guidance in a crisis situation.

10. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with lead agencies and consumers.

11. Submitting all required reports and documentation to the Corporate Office.

12. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

In order for consideration, the following minimum qualifications must be met:

1. an individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served; or

2. a graduate of a college or university with a Masters degree in a human services field and has one year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or

3. a graduate of a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a human services field and has two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or

4. a graduate of a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; No substantiated findings of abuse or neglect on the NC Health Care Personnel Registry.

5. Qualified Professionals who focuses on substance abuse interventions must be supervised by a CCS or LCAS. Individuals in this position are expected to carry out first responder for their recipients on a face to face basis and also telephonically at all times (24/7/365) with the capacity for face-to-face-emergency response with two (2) hours and provide guidance in a crisis situation. In addition, all staff must complete required training within the first 90 days of employment.

6. Ability to apply the concepts of customer service in the workplace. Ability to use good professional judgement. Detail oriented. Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision.

7. Possess a basic knowledge of all office equipment, including word processors, computers, fax, and copy machines, and a willingness to attend appropriate classes to increase knowledge as needed.

8. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

9. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines. Ability to meet short and long-term goals and project deadlines.

10. Respect for the confidentiality of all communications required within job duties, including client/employee records and documents, and electronic transmission by voice, data, and wire.

11. Experience with multi-cultural/multi-lingual populations and multi-disciplinary teams.
