Pathways to life is seeking a Crisis Stabilization Licensed Mental Health Professional.  

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the LMHP provides therapeutic sessions to consumers and families as well as completes all initial crisis assessments. This position is crucial in the implementation of quality and "all inclusive" care at Pathways to Life, Inc.  and is the initial contact point for crisis stabilization services.  The LMHP is responsible for the supervision of all Crisis Stabilization QMHPs as well as assisting in the completion of assessments of consumers entering services as well as consumers being re-evaluated for services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts initial comprehensive assessments.
  • Develops ISPs, quarterlies, and other clinical documentation as needed.
  • Provides direct service to crisis stabilization consumers as needed.
  • Provides direct face-to-face 1 hour supervision to assigned staff.
  • Reviews all clinical documentation and provides signatures as appropriate.
  • Assist with staff training and ensures implementation of trained objectives.
  • Submits Magellan entries for intakes/reauthorizations within 48hrs.
  • Follows Magellan submissions throughout authorization periods.
  • Provide availability 24 hours for crisis calls.
  • Assist team in the coordination of treatment and goal development.
  • Obtains and increases professional and technical knowledge and skills by attending trainings, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks related to workplace competence.
  • Maintains professional certifications and licensure requirements.
  • Completes tasks with attention to details, meets established deadlines, and functions with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize job duties.
  • Displays functional interpersonal skills with employees and patients by communicating in a clear and direct manner when relaying information and managing administrative tasks, and by assisting in resolving misunderstandings and/or conflicts occurring within the organization when needed.
  • Participates actively in administrative organizational tasks directly related to obtaining and maintaining national accreditation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communication Pathways to Life Inc's administrative policies, procedures, and protocols in a manner that ensures their application within the operation of the program and services.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

 

STAFF REQUIREMENTS:

  1. The Licensed, or License Eligible LMHP must meet at least one of the following criteria:
  • "Licensed mental health professional (LMHP)" refers to a physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed marriage and family therapist, or a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist. If psychotherapy is to be billed by the LMHP, the therapist must comply with the outpatient psychotherapy criteria outlined in Chapters II, VI, V, and VI of the Psychiatric Services Provider Manual. Or;

 

  • "Licensed eligible mental health professional" refers to an individual who has completed his or her graduate degree from an accredited program and is under the direct personal supervision of an individual licensed under Virginia state law. The individual must be working towards licensure in the State of Virginia and be supervised by the appropriate licensed professional in accordance with the requirements of the individual profession.

 

  1. Have no substantiated findings on the criminal history or central registry background checks.

 

  1. The LMHP will have all required company trainings met within a 30 day period after hire. A tuberculosis screening as well as First Aid and CPR certifications will be obtained during the first 30 days of hire.

 

  1. All facilities or services shall require that all applicants for employment disclose any criminal conviction. The impact of this information on a decision regarding employment shall be based upon the offense in relationship to the job for which the applicant is applying. Any barrier crime convictions, regardless of when it occurred, will cause an applicant to be ineligible for the position as defined by the Code of Virginia 63.2-1719 and 37.2-314.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • The LMHP will possess a working knowledge of the mental health field, and have an active license or Board letter for eligibility on file identifying Pathways to Life as the agency where providing services.
  • Must be able to use appropriate judgment when diagnosing and serving individuals.
  • The LMHP must maintain licensure throughout employment.
  • LMHP will be able to maintain current records in an organized system.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals within a diverse community.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and manage a team.
  • Ability to apply therapeutic techniques. Ability to use good professional judgment. Detail oriented. Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines. Ability to meet short and long-term goals and project deadlines.
